Why do some brothers run around quoting Proverbs 31:10? "A virtuous woman, who can find one?" My answer would be, perhaps a virtuous man can. It would stand to reason, if one is walking in the path of righteousness, forever seeking righteousness, if it is Yahs will, he will find himself a virtuous mate. How can one make comments, or statements about virtues in another, and lack those very elements in their own character? That's called being a hypocrite. I, as a woman, would like a virtuous husband, so we can, worship Yah together, and live in harmony. But, what kind of wife would I be, if I have no virtue, and I am constantly showing my flaws, and vice-versa? This is the very reason I wont go around male bashing, and judging brothers. I love my sisters and brothers. What purpose does it serve, to run around the tabernacle high fivin each other, and making haughty and arrogant statements regarding sisters? If we love one another, we will tear down in order to rebuild an even more sound structure than before, and do so with wisdom and love. We need to have unity and peace, not division. We all need to be honest with ourselves, look at our flaws and fix them. None of us are Yashua, so we all have imperfections. Look at these lists of vices below. Does a man who possesses any of these traits really think he should be worried about a women's virtue or vice versa? We need to mortify whatever vices we posses before we can even qualify to seek a person who is an epitome of virtue. Then, maybe, YAH will bless us with him or her. If we don't mortify the wickedness in ourselves, and take on a mate. We will place those persons in relationships that are possessive, obsessive, oppressive, and have no peace. A virtuous person is deserving of much more than that. If a virtuous woman made a covenant with a man who has a long list of vices, (meaning he is not virtuous), what kind of union would that be? One that is unequally yoked and spiritually unhealthy. Really and truly, I think brothers know that there are some virtuous sisters out here, but brothers, are you virtuous enough to know one when she comes along? Or, are you intimidated, by a virtuous woman, and subconsciously seeking someone who is a lil flawed, then, that person can overlook, and accept those imperfections, or vices you have? And, that you don't have the faith or courage to mortify, or, in some cases don't want to change. If so, then it would stand to reason why some brothers can't see whats right in front of their face or are too intimidated to see. Simply, because you have not raised the bar of moral standards regarding yourselves, Hmm! Lets keep it real now! Then, you want to run around Tabernacle Elohim as though there aren't any righteous sisters, and lump us all together in a negative sum. Brothers please! None of us are perfect or blameless. Some of you, spend so much time lusting after the daughters of men, get into a relationship with them, and when things backfire, you, in your ANGER, ask questions like, "who can find a virtuous woman?" Prov 17:28, 18:2. Ask yourself this, have us sisters in our community sinned, or made some occasional bad choices, in that we stepped outside of virtue for a moment? Or, are we practicing sin, and constantly outside of the proverbial virtue box? I'm sure there are a few that do, but not all of us. Either way, we already have one to judge us. A humble brother is not going to make verbal attacks on sisters character, (humble is a virtue by the way). If you see a brother or sister on the wayside rebuke them with love and wisdom. Who is edified by slander? What about yourself, do you qualify to have headship over a virtuous sister? If I have to be Eves daughter for the rest of my life, and you are my brother what does that make you? Below are 2 lists one for vices and one for virtues. I challenge, myself and you to do a self analysis to see how we fair amongst the virtues and the vices. My desire is for us, (sons and daughters of the covenant) to love one another and to live in harmony with Yah and each other. I pray that this will be so. Much Love and Shalom! Psalm 119, Matt 7:1-5 Merciful and Gracious Father Yah, my please allow all of us, brothers and sisters in the covenant to be what we purified ourselves to be. Help strengthen our minds to do what is pleasing to you. Let the seed of your word take root, so that we may be remembered by you for our good fruit. Please allow us all to see the error of our ways, and fix them. Let self righteous people, not strive amongst us. Rather, allow them to become humble servants. For we should know, all fall short, before your glory. Please, Father help us to help ourselves through meditation, study, and application of your words, your laws. In the name of Yashua Ben David. Amen! Some vices recognized in various cultures of the world include:
[edit] Popular usageThe term vice is also popularly applied to various activities considered immoral by some; a list of these might include the use of alcohol and other recreational drugs, gambling, smoking, recklessness, cheating, lying, selfishness. It is also used in reference to police vice units who prosecute crimes associated with these activities. Often, vice particularly designates a failure to comply with the sexual mores of the time and place such as sexual promiscuity. Behaviors or attitudes going against the established virtues of the culture may also be called vices: for instance, effeminacy is considered a vice in a culture espousing masculinity as an essential element of the character of males.
